ASL/English private practice interpreters are service providers. Any office or business that wants or needs to provide communication access for Deaf patients or clients can hire an interpreter to provide accommodations. The interpreter is then contracted with the business so it is the business’ responsibility to handle scheduling and any changes to an appointment just as other office staffing is handled. That responsibility is not left up to the patient/client.
